DIY Lemon Rosemary Scrub

During the winter season, we often find ourselves trying to buy the perfect gifts for friends and family. This is when we remind ourselves that sometimes the best gifts aren’t bought. Instead, they are experienced or handmade. With this intention in mind, we’ve created a simple scrub recipe for you to give to those you love. The ingredients for this scrub are probably already in your kitchen cabinet, garden or available locally!

We decided on creating a scrub for its timely winter wellness benefits. The winter season is a time when we are often moving slower and eating more. This invigorating rosemary and lemon scrub is the perfect way to shed those dead skin cells, get the circulation flowing and move through that stagnant winter feeling.

Invigorating Rosemary and Lemon Scrub

This scrub is the perfect way to shed dead skin cells, get the circulation flowing and move through that stagnant winter feeling.

Materials

  • Clean jar
  • Spoon to stir

Ingredients

  • 1 cup kosher salt
  • ½ cup pure organic almond oil
  • Zest of one lemon
  • 2 teaspoons of chopped rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons of lavender

To make

  1. Put the salt into your jar
  2. Add the zest from the lemon
  3. Add chopped rosemary and lavender flowers into the mix
  4. Pour in the almond oil, and give it a good stir
  5. Label the blend with your own unique name and the ingredients used.

To wrap

Not only is our gift important but so is the presentation. We try to be mindful when wrapping our gifts by using post-consumer recycled paper and creating bows with baker’s twine. For our finishing touch, we like to adorn our gifts with plants; you can use local pine needles, rosemary or whatever plants are calling to you.
