Plant Personality: Chamomile, Dandelion & Passionflower

When we see plants blooming in our gardens, climbing up a hiking trail or bursting out of the crack of a sidewalk, we feel like we are meeting new friends. Each greeting feels like a time to connect and get to know the plants’ characteristics. As herbalists, we like to study the structure of plants, the patterns between different plant families and (when it’s safe) we like to taste the plants to get to know their herbal power. By engaging with all our senses, we develop deeper connections.

Through our engagement with plants, we were inspired to create a Plant Personality Quiz as a fun way to explore the plants most like you. Once you take the quiz, you will learn your three-letter plant personality. Perhaps you are a CDP:

Chamomiles are easy-going, friendly and well-liked. You’ve got a gentle and sweet nature and a calming presence that puts others at ease. Your sensitivity to others may cause you to take on too much of others people’s feelings, though, and you may even be prone to worry.

Dandelions don’t give up easily and often thrive in situations others would find discouraging. You have an instinct to serve others and see yourself as most useful in times or places of crisis. But you may over-rely on your toughness and forget how sensitive you really are.

Passionflowers are deeply concerned about others and the world around them. You have a developed sense of what’s right and just. You’re a bit of an idealist and strive to see your vision of perfection realized in the world. On occasion, you get out of balance, and you may feel a deep sense of unease and be prone to worry—especially at night, tossing and turning over all that is wrong or that needs fixing.
