Hibiscus Iced Tea Spritzers

The beautiful hibiscus flower is the star of this refreshing recipe. Inspired by the ruby red drinks found at roadside stands in the tropics, we’ve created this bubbly Hibiscus Iced Tea Spritzer featuring our Organic Hibiscus tea, a bright dose of lime, and a drizzle of honey for a drink that’s perfectly sweet and tart for any warm weather occasion.

As herbalists, it’s no surprise to find hibiscus-laden drinks throughout the tropics like the Caribbean or beach towns of Mexico, where they likely understand the hibiscus plant’s cooling action, according to traditional herbal energetics theory. Native to India and West and East Africa, there are several hundred species of hibiscus shrubs and trees. A staple flower for an everyday tea, hibiscus is most prized for its refreshing and slightly tart taste in addition to its medicinal properties. The most traditional being a cooling, cardiovascular tonic.*

This ice-cold, effervescent spritzer is about to become your favorite summer drink and the perfect herbal beverage to balance the heat for a day at the beach, fun in the sun, or parties with friends.

While the recipe calls for Organic Hibiscus tea, have fun and experiment with our Organic Hawthorn with Hibiscus or Organic Rose Hips with Hibiscus teas, too!

Hibiscus Iced Tea Spritzers

Featuring brewed organic hibiscus flower tea, with lime and a bit of honey and cinnamon, this simple hibiscus beverage will be your go-to warm weather refresher.

Servings: 8

Time: 30 mins


  • Pitcher
  • Glassware
  • Citrus squeezer
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons



  1. Boil 2 cups of water and pour over tea bags in a heat-safe container or pot.
  2. Cover and steep for 10 mins. Squeeze excess tea from tea bags and discard.
  3. Stir in honey and cinnamon powder until well mixed. This becomes somewhat of an herbal syrup.
  4. Let cool completely—about 20 mins.
  5. Transfer to a serving pitcher, and squeeze in the limes.
  6. Add ice to the pitcher and fill to the top with sparkling water.
  7. Garnish with fresh lime slices, candied hibiscus fruit, or berries.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
