We love the sun!

The main reasons are obvious, but we also love it because it powers our manufacturing facility. In 2008 we installed 1,450 solar panels to make us a clean, green, sun-powered tea-making machine. On average, the solar panels provide about 70% of our total electricity needs and we offset the rest with wind-energy credits. During the sunny months, the solar panels may actually produce 100% of our electricity and we even sell some back to the local energy company.

To complete our commitment to clean energy, and to offset whatever electricity we use not produced by our solar array, we purchase Renewable Energy Certificates from Bonneville Environmental Foundation to support renewable energy from wind projects where clean energy is delivered into the power grid to reduce carbon emissions from existing fossil fueled power plants.
