Promoting Healthy Lactation with Galactogogues

Throughout time, mothers in many countries and cultures have used special food and herbs to help them increase their production of breast milk. These herbal remedies, typically referred to as “galactogogues,” encourage milk production to begin and increase total milk volume.
Many herbs in the Apiaceae family (commonly known as the carrot family) such as Aniseed, Bitter fennel and Coriander are classified as having galactagogue action. Other herbs such as Fenugreek seed and Blessed Thistle herb, all have a long history of traditional use in Europe for promoting the production of breast milk.
Organic Mother’s Milk® is a traditional combination of galactogogues used to increase breast milk production and is often recommended by lactation counselors and medical herbalists. Organic Mother’s Milk® is a pleasantly aromatic balance of sweet, spicy and slightly bitter tastes.
